Headshot of Peter Sorensen, DPM, MHA

About

Peter Sorensen, DPM, MHA

Podiatry resident, educator, and builder — focused on helping the next generation navigate medicine with more clarity and less friction.

Peter earned his DPM and MHA from Des Moines University after completing a Spanish degree at Southern Utah University. His path into podiatry began after an ankle injury and surgery of his own.

Sole Intelligence grew out of two overlapping interests: practical medical education and the real-world use of AI. Peter has spoken with residency programs about using AI in research and clinical life, serves as Podiatry Residency Research Chief for ASVI, and is a resident member of the American College of Artificial Intelligence and Medicine.

His work also extends beyond the clinic. Through advocacy, policy engagement, and APMA leadership spaces, he puts his MHA to work on issues that shape the future of the profession — including Capitol Hill meetings on podiatry legislation and involvement with the APMA Emerging Leaders Program for 2026–2027.

Advocacy

Policy, leadership, and showing up where decisions get made

Peter's advocacy work sits at the intersection of podiatric medicine, health policy, and practical leadership — meetings on Capitol Hill, engagement with APMA House of Delegates discussions, and a clear interest in helping residents and students feel less shut out from the rooms where professional decisions happen.

This is part of the same mission behind Sole Intelligence: lowering barriers, clarifying what matters, and helping more people participate with confidence.
